Sono
nato a Parma, dove tutt’ora risiedo e dove ho iniziato
a dipingere senza una particolare esperienza scolastica ma
seguendo l’istinto e la curiosità delle pitture
antiche etrusche del 300/400 A.C. affascinato dal loro modo
semplice e diretto di dipingere le loro tombe, nonchè l’espressione
dei loro colori, forti e decisi, assorbendo in parte la tecnica
dell’Affresco.
All’Affresco su legno, abbinato al materico, derivato da
una speciale resina cellulosa molto duttile, alla pietra ed a particolari
colori acrilici imprimo un collage intenso per espressione ed originalità esaltando
così i ricordi, i simboli storici o l’invenzione intrigante
della similitudine a volte originale a volte verosimile.
Le
opere fin qui prodotte sono divise in otto grandi temi che sono
particolarmente sentiti,
ma altri potranno aggiungersi:
libero da particolari cliché seguo d’istinto tutto
ciò che mi produce una particolare emozione, sensazione
o impressione importante, e ne sono sempre alla ricerca.
A
breve aggiornerò questo testo con nuove sensazioni
e probabilmente nuovi percorsi, se ci saranno; comunque, sarò attento
a cogliere quei suggerimenti che la vita riserva.
La mia arte
La tecnica usata è verosimilmente quella dell’affresco “murale”,
solitamente usata ai tempi dell’immagine a cui si fà riferimento;
un intonaco composto da sabbia di fiume e tinte acrilico naturale
opache.
La base è solitamente o, preferibilmente, un pannello
di legno, ideale a raggiungere l’effetto desiderato del “pezzo
di parete” e riesce a trattenere colori o effetti rocciosi,
nonchè testimonianze di “altro intonaco", sovrapposto
nel tempo.
Spesso viene creato proprio un
effetto roccia, più o
meno deteriorata o scalfita da scalpelli, usando anche un materiale
composto da resina vegetale con additivi di cemento e/o gesso.
Alla
fine dell’opera... un rapido processo di invecchiamento
permetterà di osservare un'immagine che pur avvicinandosi
al contesto degli originali ne mantiene una sua particolare e
propria espressione.

Biography of Gianni Mantovani
Gianni Mantovani was born January 17, 1947 in Parma where he
lives and where he now expresses her creativity
Although he always had, since the lower schools, the passion
of the image and their locations, had started his career as a
salesman, running in many cities and places more or less famous
browsing, inspired that then we end up in the era current with
its material expression.
His career has taken him to a very important and intense collaboration
with our companies, providing advice, receiving certificates
of appreciation and renewed willingness to work around the pictures
and colors.
An important step now towards the end of the career and which
he is already looking into the expressiveness of the art, it
is due to visit the Etruscan tombs of Tarquinia, where he stops
to admire the expressive power of the painters who expressed
the sides, especially in the room of the Lionesses. Here, in
fact, expressed in his works the base of the fresco (on wooden
panels with .....) interventions sometimes agreed, sometimes
blurred, materials and acrylic paints, old, experienced, but
always with the intent to convey feeling.
WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT HIM:
Dr Simone Fappani .......... Gianni Mantovani can translate,
in a narrative language of strong emotional outlet, feelings
and impressions.
He does so without remorse, without hesitation, would say.
In this way his works, full of clear symbolic references that
are revealed to the mind gradually, but remain fixed for a long
time as a pleasant reminder of the legacy that is worth retaining
and return.
Signs and symbols alternate on the surface of the work, carried
out through a clever use of collage, making elements able to
capture the viewer.
Matter and materials are so intriguing in this whole creative
experience, in which to read a marked originality.
Dr Anna and Dr Giugni Gianluigi Guarniere ...... plots of color
bring to life a tangle material aimed at a systematic eclecticism
expressed in the evocative rhythmic energy by giving us the
artistic soul of Gianni Mantovani.
Combinations of signs take on anthropomorphic aspects and float
to other dimensions, announcing silent and refined atmosphere
composition.
Evocative symbol of matter beyond the pure concepts of physics
to join us in a hypnotic dimension away from the vacuous and
slow decline of things.
